وفق A Bola Porto rejected a €20 million (£17m/$22m) bid from Galatasaray for goalkeeper Diogo Costa. The Portuguese club consider their captain and No.1 untouchable, protecting him with a €75m (£63m/$81m) release clause. The offer was viewed as far below Porto’s valuation, with the club unwilling to negotiate one of their most important assets under Francesco Farioli.

Galatasaray are in the market for a new goalkeeper after Fernando Muslera’s departure. Their first choice remains ‘s Ederson, but with no agreement yet in place, they made a formal approach for Costa. The Dragons, however, see the 25-year-old as a vital part of their squad under Farioli and have no plans to negotiate.

Costa has become a cornerstone at the Estadio do Dragao, recently recording his 100th league victory in Porto’s 2-0 win over Gil Vicente. The international has already registered two clean sheets this season and remains highly rated for his reflexes, ball distribution, and leadership.

The 2025 Nations League winner is one of the highest-rated goalkeepers in Europe. Since breaking into Porto’s first team in 2019, he has made 276 appearances and kept 110 clean sheets. He has earned praise for his consistency in big matches, including decisive penalty saves in both domestic and European competitions, and has also become Portugal’s regular starter.

The Turkish giants will continue their search for a top-level keeper with Ederson still their priority target. Unless a drastic offer arrives, Porto are firm on keeping star man Costa.
