- Fenerbahce ready €45m bid for Antony
- Winger prefers return to Betis over a Super Lig switch
- United want permanent sale after signing him for €95m
Fenerbahce have indicated they are prepared to meet Manchester United‘s asking price for winger Antony, with a bid of around €45 million (£38m/$49m) expected, according to ESPN. United are reportedly keen to finalise a permanent sale as quickly as possible. However, the 25-year-old is said to be reluctant to move to the Turkish Super Lig and is hesitant to commit to the deal, preferring to wait for other offers.
United’s priority is to offload Antony on a permanent basis this summer. The main obstacle has been that most interested parties are only proposing a loan deal. This includes Real Betis, where Antony spent a successful loan spell in the second half of last season and is reportedly keen to return. Brighton, Bayer Leverkusen and Benfica have also been credited with an interest, but Fenerbahce are the first club to signal a willingness to pursue a permanent transfer.
Antony joined United from Ajax in 2022 for a significant transfer fee of €95 million (£81m/$103m). Despite the high expectations, the Brazilian international struggled to make a consistent impact at Old Trafford and gradually fell down the pecking order before his loan move last season.
The winger is under contract at United until June 2027. During his loan spell at Betis last term, he rediscovered his form by contributing nine goals and five assists in 26 appearances for the Spanish side.
