- Celtic interested in Stengs
- No direct contact between clubs
- Celtic have made seven signings
According to CeltsarehereCeltic are yet to make direct contact with Feyenoord over a transfer, with only exploratory talks held with Stengs’ agent to assess the terms of a potential move having taken place. Stengs could become Celtic’s eighth signing of the season, following the loan arrival of Jahmai Simpson-Pusey from Manchester City and the free transfer of Callum Osmand from Fulham.
Stengs came through the AZ youth system and had three impressive seasons in the Eredivise before he left to join Nice in 2021. However, a year later he was loaned to Royal Antwerp where he did well enough to convince Feyenoord to bring him back to Netherlands. He netted 13 goals and registered seven assists in their 2023-24 Eredivisie title run, but his progress stalled last season as injuries kept him out for most of the campaign.
Celtic have completed the signing of Kieran Tierney on a free transfer, marking an emotional return six years after his 2019 move to Arsenal. Brendan Rodgers’ side are off to a strong start this season, having won their first two league games of the season to go top of the table.
Celtic will face Kazakhstan’s Kairat Almaty in Champions League qualifying this week and will hope to seal the signing of Stengs in the background.
