- Sevilla want €30m for Agoume
- Signed permanently from Inter Milan last year
- Red Devils unlikely to sign Baleba this summer
According to Orgullobiri United are monitoring the situation of Sevilla star Agoume. The French midfielder signed permanently for the La Liga side last year after an initial spell on loan, having failed to break into the starting XI during his time with Inter. The report states Sevilla want €30 million (£25.9m/$35m) – lower than his reported €40m release clause – which would make Agoume a much cheaper alternative to Baleba.
The Red Devils’ interest in Baleba has been reported in recent weeks, though their desire to sign him this window has reduced after Brighton slapped a whopping £115 million (€133m/$156m) price tag on the 21-year-old. Baleba is thought to be keen on the switch but the Seagulls don’t need to sell and will only do so if their desires are met.
Agoume had loan spells with Spezia, Brest and Troyes while on the books at Inter before making another temporary switch to Sevilla, this time with an option to buy included for the Spanish side. After a quiet first season at Estadio Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan, the 23-year-old became a regular in the starting lineup during the 2024-25 campaign, beginning 24 of his 35 total La Liga appearances, and started the current term in great fashion as he scored in a 3-2 defeat to Athletic Club on Sunday.
It remains to be seen if United will follow up their reported interest, but it’s thought Ruben Amorim’s side will focus heavily on shifting some deadwood from the squad over the next few weeks. Exit routes still need to be created for the likes of Jadon Sancho, Antony, Tyrell Malacia and Alejandro Garnacho, while Rasmus Hojlund could also be sent back to Italy with Napoli the latest team to signal their desire to sign the Danish striker.
