According to Fabrizio Romano, Juventus have agreed personal terms with O’Riley but can only make a move for the Brighton midfielder once they have sold Luiz. Juventus are weighing up a loan with an obligation to buy for O’Riley, who is one of three candidates to replace Luiz.

Juventus have been seeking midfield reinforcements for coach Igor Tudor. After failed approaches for ‘s Morten Hjulmand and Sandro Tonali, Juventus turned their attention to O’Riley, with Brighton open to selling for around €30 million (£25m/$35m) after signing him from last season. Juventus are also keeping tabs on ‘s Yves Bissouma.

Juventus have been trying to offload Douglas Luiz since the start of the transfer window. Relations have soured after he failed to report for the first day of pre-season. While and have offered loan deals with an option to buy, Juventus remain firm on securing a permanent transfer.

With the summer window nearing its conclusion and activity picking up, Juventus will hope potential suitors step forward for Luiz. Meanwhile, O’Riley is eager for the club to agree a fee with Brighton, viewing the move as a step up in his career, with Juventus able to offer European football.
