- Man Utd not exploring Stiller’s signature
- No internal discussions held at Carrington
- Player to continue with Stuttgart this season
After Brighton declined United‘s proposal to sign Carlos Baleba, speculation started to gain traction surrounding Stuttgart’s Stiller, who has been constantly linked with Real Madrid this summer. However, according to journalist Florian Plettenberg, the Red Devils are not interested in signing Stiller, and there have been no plans or discussions within the camp to bring him to Old Trafford.
The Madrid links for Stiller started to appear after reports suggested that the German midfielder was being recommended by Toni Kroos. Reportedly, Kroos talked to the Madrid camp about the player and his traits. However, the Spanish club have not launched any official bid for the player, nor were any inquiries made. Meanwhile, there were also reports that the Madrid camp would trigger Paz’s buy-back clause, which was also untrue.
Stiller is a product of Bayern Munich‘s youth system and he joined Stuttgart in 2023. The 24-year-old has played 82 games for Stuttgart, in which he has scored five goals and registered 17 assists. Stiller’s contract reportedly also includes a release clause set at around €40 million (£34m/$46m), but this release clause becomes valid only from 2026. Until then, Stuttgart holds an option to cancel this release clause by paying Stiller a fee of €2m directly, which effectively allows the club to block offers from other teams by nullifying the clause.
United will most likely end the transfer window without making any more signings after failing in their pursuit of Baleba. Stiller also has a contract with Stuttgart until 2028 and is expected to go into the season as one of their integral players.
