With the transfer window nearing its end, are reportedly eyeing Asensio in a surprise move. According to El Gol Digital the La Liga side are closely monitoring the situation of the Spanish international, who is out of ‘s plans at PSG.

Mallorca see a rare opportunity to bring back the player who began his career at the club. While a permanent move may be financially out of reach, options such as a loan or contract termination are being explored. However, the main obstacle remains Asensio’s high wages. As the window draws to a close, the decision now hinges on the player himself and whether he’s ready to relaunch his career at a lower mid-table club in . Los Piratas, though, aren’t the only Spanish side interest, with also keeping tabs on the player.

Asensio wishes to play for one of the top teams in Europe’s top five leagues, which prompted him to reportedly reject the opportunity to play under the legendary Jose Mourinho at Turkish side Fenerbahce. After spending the latter half of the 2024-25 season on loan at Villa Park, are eager to sign the 29-year-old on a permanent transfer. Asensio was impressive during his brief loan spell at the club, scoring eight goals in 21 appearances across all competitions. Head coach Unai Emery remains a big fan and would like to reunite with him next season. Per reports, the Villans are expected to lodge a €20 million (£17m/$23m) bid for the ex- star. PSG are believed to be open to selling the left-footed attacker for a cut-price deal, given he has just one year left on his contract.

Asensio doesn’t have a lack of suitors. Indeed, along with La Liga clubs, Fenerbahce, and Aston Villa, there has been interest from , too. and are rumoured to be eyeing a move for the four-time winner.
