Hojlund has fallen way down the pecking order at under Ruben Amorim following the Red Devils’ summer spending spree on attacking options. With Benjamin Sesko, Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo all options to play centrally with Joshua Zirkzee to cover, the Danish striker was told to leave the club; however, Hojlund was eager to fight for his spot and was not keen on leaving the 20-time English league champions after just one year.

AC Milan have been on the hunt for a striker this summer and had landed on Hojlund as their main option; however, early reports of the Dane wanting to stay at Old Trafford did not deter the Rossoneri. As per Gazzetta dello Sport, the delegation of the Italian side directly reached out to Hojlund’s entourage, and the report has suggested that the Dane’s father, Anders, indicated that his son is now open to a move away from Old Trafford.

While an exact transfer fee has not been reported, it has been mentioned that the conversations between AC Milan and Manchester have progressed, but the two sides’ valuation of the Dane currently differs by around €10 million.

AC Milan and Hojlund are now set to undertake talks over the potential of a transfer over the course of the next week, with Max Allegri set to head the talks with the Danish striker. The Italian manager will explain his tactical setup to Hojlund and how he fits into the system.
