- Collyer wanted Man Utd stay
- Set for West Brom loan move
- Deal does not include buy option
According to The Athletic, West Brom have won the race to sign the United midfielder on a season-long loan deal. This comes weeks after the 21-year-old made it clear that he wanted to play for the Red Devils as much as possible.
The former Brighton academy player is highly rated at United, and that, among other reasons, is why there is no buy option clause in the deal, as per Fabrizio Romano. Hull City were among a number of Championship teams after Collyer but now it seems he will head to the promotion-chasing Baggies.
Collyer, who joined United from Brighton in 2022, made his Red Devils debut in the Community Shield match against Manchester City in August 2024. He made 19 appearances last season but was often behind the likes of Kobbie Mainoo, Manuel Ugarte, and Christian Eriksen in the midfield pecking order.
It remains to be seen if and when England Under-20 international Collyer will complete his short-term switch to West Brom, with Ryan Mason’s side in Championship action against newly-promoted Wrexham on Saturday.
