- Bayern are not pursuing Nick Woltemade
- Sporting director confirms deal is off
- Says club ‘very satisfied’ with current squad
Bayern have had a difficult summer transfer window, missing out on the likes of Florian Wirtz and Nico Williams before finally being able to wrap up لويس Diaz’s signing from ليفربول. Woltemade remains another target they are keen to bring in, but Eberl has indicated that he is another they have been forced to give up on for the time being, despite having an agreement with the 23-year-old.
The German striker had an amazing spell last season at Stuttgart and was very optimistic about joining Bayern this year. However, Stuttgart have rejected their offers so far, wanting to cash in as much as they can for their star striker or ensure that he stays for another season. This has irked both the player and Bayern, as the club did not even respond to the 2024-25 الدوري الألماني champions’ enquiries. Eberl claims that after signing Diaz, the squad is in place, and they will wait for their injured players to return in October and handle things at their own pace.
Speaking to the media during a post-match conference, the sporting director said: “I think we’ve said enough about it. We’ve tried hard to get the player, but Stuttgart hasn’t signaled that they want to talk. So the matter is off the table for us. There’s no stop until September 1st. There’s always some movement. But for now, we’re in the lead. We’re calm, we have our squad in place, and we’ll see what happens.”
Woltemade has since tried to speak with Stuttgart representatives to initiate talks with Bayern and discuss a possible transfer move. However, The 2024 كأس ألمانيا champions are reportedly firm on their stance and are only going to wait until the DFL-Supercup for offers after which they’ll not allow the striker to leave. Stuttgart face Bayern in the Supercup on August 17.
