- Dortmund keep missing out on transfer targets
- Claudio Echeverri is the latest name they fail to land
- Sporting director remains hopeful with deadline looming
Dortmund continue to find life tough in the transfer market this summer. The German giants have already seen multiple targets slip through their fingers, with Claudio Echeverri the latest setback. BVB were keen to bring the مانشستر سيتي youngster on loan with an option to buy, but rival باير ليفركوزن swooped in and struck a straight loan deal. However, amid the disappointment, sporting director Sebastian Kehl is hopeful of making the transfer window a success.
Dortmund have not had much luck in the transfer market this summer. Ethan Nwaneri was on their list, but he chose to stay and extend with أرسنال. They also tried for Carney Chukwuemeka on a loan with an obligation to buy, chased Wolves striker فابيو Silva, and even pushed for برايتون‘s Facundo Buonanotte. In the end, every move fell through, leaving BVB still scrambling for answers. Injury to Yan Couto further depleted their already thin squad, pushing the management team to also look for defensive cover.
Their limited financial resources haven’t helped either. With more than €60m already spent this year on Jobe Bellingham, Daniel Svensson, and Couto, the German club is left with just over €30m available for fees, salaries, and loans, making it difficult to compete with other clubs.
التحدث مع Sky Sporting director Sebastian Kehl admitted the challenges but still hopes to make a few good signings before the window closes.
“I’m optimistic that we’ll still do something,” he said. “That we can ultimately make this squad even broader, or perhaps even a little better. We still have a few days to do that.”
With just 13 days to go before the September 1 transfer deadline, Dortmund don’t have much time left to get business done. Kehl is still confident they will land some signings, but after all the setbacks so far, fans are watching closely to see if that optimism actually turns into action.
