After several years of speculation regarding the status of their relationship, with a secret wedding being speculated on, Ronaldo and Rodriguez have revealed to the world that plans are being drawn up to walk down the aisle. No indication has been offered as to when that ceremony will take place.
Ronaldo has, however, finally put a ring on it and is ready to make long-time partner Georgina his wife. The Argentine-born model and influencer posted an image on Instagram of the dazzling oval-cut sparkler that CR7 has placed on her finger – with the 31-year-old saying ‘yes’ to his much-anticipated proposal.
American wedding magazine, Brides asked expert Benjamin Khordipour of Estate Diamond Jewelry about the ring, and he said: “To us, this looks like a 22-carat oval diamond, H color, VS1 clarity. The mounting is set in platinum and two ovals weighing two carats each. The price of this ring is $1,200,000.”
Ronaldo has previously said of tying the knot with Georgina – the mother of two of his five children: “It could be in a year or it could be in six months or it could be in a month. I’m 1000 [per cent] sure that it’ll happen.”
Ronaldo and Rodriguez have been together since 2016, when their paths crossed at a Gucci store in Madrid. The 40-year-old Portuguese superstar is now on the books of Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr and will have had no problem funding his engagement ring purchase as the highest-earning athlete in world sport.
