Football General Manager
- Milinkovic-Savic linked with Man Utd
- Leeds also interested
- Set to join Napoli instead
According to Fabrizio Romano, Torino goalkeeper Milinkovic-Savic is close to completing a switch to Napoli, while Cyril Ngonge is likely to go the other way on loan. That is likely to end United and Leeds’ reported interest in the Serbian.
Both Leeds and United have question marks over their keepers, with Illan Meslier struggling in goal for years now and Andre Onana failing to impress after joining from Inter Milan in 2023. Milinkovic-Savic is said to have a €21 million (£18m) release clause but it seems the Premier League sides haven’t acted quickly enough to sign the 28-year-old.
The 6ft 8in keeper began his career at United but was unable to obtain a work permit and joined Polish team Lechnia Gdansk in late 2014. Since then, the Serbia international has had loan stints at SPAL, Ascoli, and Standard Liege, before making a name for himself at Torino in the past few seasons.
With Milinkovic-Savic inching towards linking up with Antonio Conte’s Serie A-winning side, Leeds, in particular, are on the lookout for a new keeper. United, on the other hand, may keep faith with Onana.
