Football General Manager
- Man Utd sign Cunha & Mbeumo
- Backed to take team to "another level"
- Mount also praises Amorim
United spent more than £130 million ($175.6m) onu0026nbsp;Matheus Cunhau0026nbsp;andu0026nbsp;Bryan Mbeumo earlier this summer in a bid to address their goalscoring issues. Now, midfielder Mount has expressed his excitement at these additions, while also praising head coach Ruben Amorim for helping him on and off the pitch.
He told Manchester Evening News: “Obviously with the new signings coming in, they (Cunha and Mbeumo) are going to elevate us to another level and we all need to be at that level to really perform. He (Amorim) has definitely given that confidence to me from the first day he came in, speaking to me, and I know what he wants, and I feel like I know how he wants the team to play. And, obviously, I’ve had some experience in that role as well. So that helps with the younger lads coming in and me helping them understand the positions of the formation and everything. So yeah, it’s been brilliant and definitely having that confidence, the manager has that confidence in me to go out there and perform, it definitely helps as a player.”
United have been in desperate need of goals and attacking reinforcements, and they will hope winger Mbeumo and versatile forward Cunha can hit the ground running in that department. The Red Devils have had a negative Premier League goal difference for two seasons in a row now, and despite adding these quality options, Amorim’s side, arguably, still needs a lot of work after a 15th-placed finish last term.
United fans may get to see Cunha and Mbeumo in action for their pre-season friendlies in the United States against West Ham, Bournemouth, and Everton as part of the Premier League Summer Series over the next week or so.
