- Wrexham repeatedly break transfer record
- Agree £10m deal with Ipswich star
- Striker set for medical with Welsh team
According to journalist Anthony Joseph, Wrexham have agreed a £10m ($13.5m) record deal to sign Ipswich Town winger Nathan Broadhead. He adds that the Wales international is on his way to Wrexham today (Thursday) to undergo a medical and finalise the move.
If Broadhead joins, Wrexham will have spent around £25m ($34m) on signings this summer as they attempt to compete at the top end of the Championship this season. After breaking their club record arrivals on Liberato Cacace and then Lewis O’Brien, the Welsh team are set to obliterate their biggest ever fee once more.
The 27-year-old, who can play on either wing and up front, is in the last year of his Ipswich contract. Since signing for the club in 2023, he has scored 23 goals and added 12 assists in 84 matches. Last season, he scored two goals in 18 Premier League outings.
Former Wrexham academy player Broadhead could be unveiled as a new Red Dragons man ahead of Phil Parkinson’s team’s home game against West Brom in the Championship on Saturday afternoon.
